The Celebrity Reflection is the beautiful new ship in the Solstice class for Celebrity. This was eighth cruise and our second with Celebrity and we were very happy with the level of service, the decor, the cleanliness of the ship and the food selections. In the public rooms, the decor is more New York sophisticated rather than Las Vegas glitz.
Ship: Everything about the ship is set up with adults in mind, from the amount of shade, the adult only pool, and the location of the bars. We really appreciated being able to get deck chairs at any hour and as many pool towels we needed without having to sign them out. There were families with children but the majority of passengers were adults. Since we were traveling without small children, we appreciated the quiet. The entertainment was very good, from the shows to the groups that performed throughout the ship. Be sure to see the Cirque-type show. Not sure if Celebrity has landed on the best use of the lawn area yet. There are these beautiful covered arbors but they face inward rather than out to sea; we would have used them if we could have enjoyed being at sea.
Dining: We chose anytime dining and had great service the first night from Savio and Mohammed. We asked for them most nights for the rest of the cruise and enjoyed having them know our preferences. The crew takes the time to call you by name whenever they provide service in the shops, bars, restaurants, etc. It was just a nice extra touch to make sure you knew they were taking care of your needs. We also repurchased one of the beverage packages and felt it was a luxury that we really enjoyed - no signing and receipts - just the freedom to have whatever we wanted throughout the cruise. Buffet was always fresh and poolside grill was great.
8285 - The Reflection staterooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are nicely appointed. Love the doors that are on the shower rather than a curtain. We were on the angled part of the ship and had an oversized balcony. Very convenient to everything and there was no issue being close to the elevators. The next stateroom balconies were even larger. The best rooms in the 1A Category face the front of the ship and are in one or two more rooms toward the center of the ship.
We did wish there were more shelves or drawers for storage. There was plenty of space for hanging clothes and plenty of hangers.
The lifeboats were far enough below deck 8 so the view was totally fabulous.
