We booked our cruise through the cruise line and as this was our first RCCL cruise we were very excited about being on such a huge ship. We had only cruised on European cruise lines before and our expectations were very high. We boarded ship at the last minute due to cancelled flights so we missed the welcome aboard photo which we had done in the studio during the voyage. We had booked an inside cabin looking onto the Promenade deck which was nice and something different. Our cabin was always kept in pristine condition by Mary from whom we received excellent service.
Then came the meals! We were very disappointed with our dinner the first evening and being positive about the situation we decided that we would give the staff a second chance. The food left much to be desired as the choices that were available was very limited and it would take ,which felt like ages,to get from one course to the other. We found ourselves rushing through each course because of the slow service this resulted in us being chased through the dessert as the next sitting was already being prepared. this same scenario played itself through the next evening and we then made a decision to dine at the Windjammer for the balance of the cruise.
The Windjammer offered us a very good variety of dishes, buffet style, and we could sit and enjoy the ambiance and dine at our leisure. The food was always well prepared and tasty.
