We found this itinerary interesting and the cruise turned out to be a winner. The itinerary included 3 overnight stops for Paris, Bordeaux & Bilbao and that allowed for additional time to enjoy the stops. The pace of the cruise allowed for ample down time at sea to recharge, rest and burn off some of the extra calories that are a part of cruising. The weather wasn't the greatest as we had several days of rain including at sea.

The cruise definitely had a wine theme but it was not overbearing and beer afficionados like myself could enjoy the experience equally as much. The food in the dining was good. We had dinner at each of the specialty restaurants. Both had excellent service. Tuscan Grill is worth the surcharge but I would not say the same about Ocean Liners as that is just average. The service was excellent throughout the trip and the guy doing bingo was worth the admission cost. The entertainment was pretty good. The Celebrity players hit a home run each show and there was good jazz in the lounges. The make up was about 50/50 American to European which I find enjoyable.

There was no port option of Bordeaux so I am including my review in this section as that was definitely one of the highlights of the voyage. The trip includes an overnight stay at port. We elected to take the cruiseline bus tour into Bourdeaux but did not return. The bus dropped us off right in the heart of Bordeaux and we were walking distance to our hotel. We did a city tour on our own as they offer an audio guided trip through the city in English. The tour was about 1.5 hours and well worth it. From there we walked the town to a few churches and along the river. Dinner in Bordeaux was memorable as our hotel directed us to a little fish restaurant in town and there were no tourists. Bordeaux definitely does not get the tourists like Paris.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Balcony 2B

The cabin was clean & efficient. Bed was comfortable and we never had any issues with the plumbing. Our cabin attendant was courteous and accomodating.
