Booked this cruise as a winter sun break at a fantastic price , bonus was getting to go to Petra. Decided not to get off In Port Sokhna or Safaga which were both industrial type ports on the remainder of the days as we wanted to see what life on board was like when all the excursions had departed . Having only sailed with P&O we were not sure what to expect with Thomson given that the ship was about 30 years old . Flight from Manchester was OK however classing it as short haul to avoid having to show films was poor. Cruise terminal building has seen better days and was not air conditioned , took about 45 Min's to check in, once on board warm welcome from staff and taken personally to cabin . The crew were fantastic all week cannot praise them enough , food was very good and was served to you at all times, for me the hand sensitisation policy was excellent and staff were very vigilant in enforcing it thus ensuring the risk of infections was minimised.

The meridian restaurant served a varied menu, dined there 6 out of the 7 nights , used the buffet restaurant at all other times , again a varied selection to please all .

Entertainment was excellent the team work extremely hard and are very approachable and do their best to keep everyone happy . Thanks to the cruise director and all entertainment team . Read more
