This was our 19th cruise. Have been on Cunard, RCCL, Princes, Celebrity and 3rd Carnival cruise. First let me say any cruise for me is a good cruise!! Embarkation was fast and easy. We had an inside cabin which was fine. The bed was great with lots of pillows. Everything was clean and our room stewart was helpful. We felt our waiter was either not efficient or had too many tables to handle. He never took the time to talk and altho felt he tried he wasn't very friendly. That is one thing we have enjoyed about Carnival before---the wait staff --- and it just didn't come up to our expectations. Loved the frozen yogurt!! The other food was just OK. I'm a beef eater and the steak the first night was alright but from then on it was tough and stringy. The bread was good. We had iced tea at each dinner and told our waiter we would have it each night. Then every night had to ask for it and they both seemed surprised. We were never offered water, but then I didn't ask for it. We are not big dessert eaters and I'm glad of that! The desserts would have been a BIG disappointment if you really liked them. At the buffet at lunch they had maybe 3 different ones, each day they had different "names" but they looked almost like the ones yesterday, etc. Never saw one on the buffet and only got 2 small ones from room service. We didn't go to the shows. We did enjoy the classical trio each night and at the one afternoon tea. They were very good. We just walked around the ports and enjoyed that. The weather was good for the most part. We got plenty of rest and used the spa each day to workout. It was clean and the equipment was very good. The hot tubs were nice and learned from one of the CC boards to use the showers in the spas. They were great! All in all we had a good time and would go again. Think we basically go what we paid for ....just don't expect a 5 or 6 star ship.
