Our 7-day cruise on the Carnival Triumph left Miami on Saturday, September 22. Overall we had a wonderful cruise. We left out of the port of Miami, and check-in went pretty quickly. We completed our fun pass ahead of time which saved a little time in the check-in process. We got on the ship around noon, and the rooms were not ready yet. We went to the Lido Deck and enjoyed a nice lunch. There was a band playing, and it was a very lively, exciting atmosphere. Our cabins were ready around 1:30-2:00. Our rooms were on Deck 7, and we received wonderful service from our room stewardess, Anca. She would greet us in the hall by name, and our room was cleaned once in the morning and once in the evening. On our seven day cruise, we had five towel animals. We attended the dining room most evenings, and our waiter, Bobby, was excellent. He was so nice and did a great job! The menu and the food in the dining room was good. There was enough variety on the menu to satisfy everyone. For lunch, we normally ate at the Pizzeria or the New York Grille (the buffet didn't have a lot that appealed to me). There was usually some lines, but they moved pretty quickly.

Ports of Call

San Juan - We arrived here at 5 and had to be back on the ship by 11:30 p.m. I was not impressed by San Juan. Things were not clearly marked and it was just not enough time to explore. We ended up finding Senor Frog, and had a $64 ($14/drink and 15% automatic gratuity)bill for FOUR drinks (a daiquiri and 3 "Frog busters"). Luckily for the $14 we each got to keep our cup. If you are a party person, you would definitely enjoy this place, but make sure you have plenty of money!
