American Queen Cruise Review by dijoen
- Sail Date: March 2013
- Destination: USA
The food was very good and plentiful, cookies were always available. We did learn that in 2012 the food service was outsourced and in 2013 it has been brought back in house. This has clearly made a significant difference as everything was well scripted.
The cabin, we stayed in an A category cabin on the 5th deck, was more than adequate. Clean, bright and quiet.
The nightly entertainment was great and finished off a great day that tended to be exhausting if you take in all that is offered.
People have commented that an American crew may not provide a high level of service. This clearly is wrong as we enjoyed perfect service from all of the crew who were well trained and always ready to help. All of the advertised promises in the literature about the cruise were completely fulfilled.
We will return to cruise the complete Mississippi and all the other rivers the American Queen visit.
