We live on the West coast, and flew on over to our friend Miami to take our first winter cruise in the Caribbean. Upon our arrival, Miami could not even hit 50 degrees, and that was a first for us. Seems carni may have updated the cruise terminal in Miami, boarding was a breeze.

We had taken this same cruise out of Tampa last summer on the Legend, and hit the same ports of call. We jumped on this one for the fun of it. Our table mates at dinner were also 10 plus cruisers, and we all came to the conclusion carnival is getting cheap. There was only ONE show on this seven day cruise, and midweek they did an encore of that one show. Seems pretty soft to me since like them or not, the show is part of a cruise. We saw that beginning last summer, but this one had even less entertainment. The other people at the table talked about a decrease on quality of the food, and I wondered if the selections were more limited.

Our ports of call were good, cozumel, costa maya (not a lot going on here let me tell you) because something happened to Belize, rotan (captain had a hard time parking this tub in there, legend (smaller) zipped right in), and Cayman were all places we'd seen and enjoyed. All and all, a pretty good trip.

we have had a balcony room on most sailings, this one too on spa deck. standard room, but, the beds had a larger than normal hump where they were pushed together. our cab steward, gerald, highlight of the trip, tried to fix it but no lucky. remember, bring a power strip because you get but one plug...
