Our cruise on the Eurodam started out pretty rocky. Our flight was delayed at the last minute, which left us on a redeye from LA to Ft. Lauderdale. Not a good beginning. We flew into Orlando, and had planned to stay over for the night and then drive down to Ft. Lauderdale in the morning. As it turned out we ended up arriving in Orlando, checking into our hotel at 7am for a shower, and driving down the coast.

Budget rental cars is terrible. I have nothing good to say about them, aside from the fact that they don't charge a fee for picking up/dropping off in a diff't location. The lineups were long, agents were slow, etc.

I would not suggest this particular drive. It actually took us about 3.5 hours to get to Ft. Lauderdale. We very nearly missed the cruise, GPS directed us to closed roads, thru construction, etc...
