There was a total 12 adults who decided on a rainy day in August that we needed to escape Our river that had no water due to a drought. We are all boaters and needed something to make up for the lack of water we had.

We took the Amtrak from Kankakee IL down to New Orleans. 18 hour trip more fun on the way down then the way back. Very cold but it was a different form of transportation.

We had reservation at the Cotton Exchange hotel. I am not going to get into that to much because we already wrote about it and also put something in the New Orleans post about it. All I am going to say stay away. They messed our reservations up so bad that it took me 3 hours today to find out who managed them. Terrible Management at this hotel. From what I heard through different parts on the internet they are trying to sell it. They just need to get Management in there who know what they are doing. Read more
