Carnival Conquest Cruise Review by GARBALU46
- Sail Date: February 2013
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Interior
Our original cabin was on the Rivera deck number 1291. WARNING do not book this cabin. We had several problems. First the toilet would not flush. You would push the button and nothing would happen for about 5 to 10 minutes then finally it would decide to flush. I called maintenance and they sent a plumber who put in a new flush button. We called and he came within 10 minutes but it was 11:30 PM. Then the fun really began. It seems that this cabin is over a kitchen. The walls behind the bed vibrated badly and there were loud noises from the kitchen below. Called guest services and they sent someone to investigate. He was the one who told us our problem was a kitchen below us.
The next morning we were contacted by guest services and were given another room on main deck. It was a lovely room with no problems...obviously they do not really travel full!
They have changed the entertainment since our last cruise. Now it was 3 shows: Brits, Motown and Divas. It is a combination of live singing and dancing and screens of video flashing. We did not care for this. We missed the live band. The entertainers were very talented but the shows weren't really what we enjoy. Think a younger crowd would enjoy them more.
Moved to 2280: Nice oceanview. well appointed. convenient to the elevators.

Belize CityWe took the tour to the Mayan ruins of Xuna.....ich. Excellent and well informed guide. Long bus ride of about 2 1/2 hours. Alot of walking on uneven ground. Climb to the top of the pyramid was quite strenuous. We did not attempt it. Then went for lunch in a nearby restaurant. Had chicken, rice and beans and sodas. It was adequate but not great. Returned to the ship shortly before departure.View All 2,217 Belize City Cruise Port Reviews

Mayan RuinsNot as large or developed as the ruins in Belize City. Guide was well informed.Claimed to be mayan and spoke to us in that language. That gave an authentic flavor to the trip. Walking was on rocky uneven land. Ruins were foundation type rock. No big reconstructed buildings. After the ruins stopped at a restaurant/gift shop with a beach across from it. No real purpose in this stop.View All 298 Mayan Ruins Reviews
RoatanWe did the Mahogany Beach tour where we had clam shells for the day. It was raining in the morning so we did not go until about 12:30. You take a ski lift type ride over to the beach. The beach was beautiful. Floats were included in the tour. We spent a few hours here and really relaxed. Only problem we saw was that to get the floats you had to leave your sail and sign card. Another woman did this as we did. When she returned the floats they could not find her card. We left before this was resolved. Don't know what would happen if they could not find it!View All 2,529 Roatan Cruise Port Reviews
