We were on the NCL Dawn cruise ship and chose this line because of the itinerary. Our mini suite was very nice and spacious and we boarded in New York. Embarkation was so easy and getting a cab from LaGuardia was absolutely no problem and cost about $30 per couple with toll and tip. However - we were not impressed with the Free Style cruising. It is very difficult to be seated for dinner and the menus in the Main Dining rooms were very poor. The restaurants where you were charged a fee $15-$20 per person were delicious and we ate most meals there. We were 3 days into our cruise before we met our stateroom attendants. We got NO SERVICE for ice or replacement towels etc. without asking for it. We had one excursion ticket that we turned in for a refund 3 days before arriving at the port, but were still charged for it. Finally, we did manage to receive a credit. I recommend that someone cruising NCL pay close attention to their final bill as many errors occurred. Their web site is very hard to find answers to questions or to order Bon Voyage gift items (we ordered Red wine for a fellow passenger and NCL delivered white wine instead). The entertainment for our cruise was a juggler, a comedy skit act and a magician - not exactly entertaining. There is no on-board television viewing of your account, but however there are 2 free movie channels which was nice. At the spa and exercise area, there is no attendant - if you need towels - you get them yourself; if you have questions - you just figure it out; if you want to know how to operate the equipment - you ask a fellow passenger. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in the staff - but like I said in the beginning - maybe we are just not NCL Free Style Cruisers.
