This was our third cruise (late-30s couple) traveling this time with family (sister, niece and son). First time on RCCL, other cruises were with Norwegian and Princess. I read every review about the ship and thought I must write a review myself to let everyone know about the fantastic time we all had on the Rhapsody. I really enjoyed the RCCL experiences.

We flew in the night before on a non-stop from Boston to Houston and choose to stay at the Marriott at the airport. The kids enjoyed the pool so much we utilized the hotel again for the day when we needed to wait for our return plane. I would suggest staying the night before in the area. You never know with the weather during hurricane season. We lucked out with Hurricane Ernesto since the cruise line modified our itinerary. We did not run into anyone from Boston. Many people on the ship could not get over why we would travel from Boston for a cruise out of Texas. Yes, most of the people on board are from Texas and I ran into many from Oklahoma. We enjoyed the friendliness of the passengers and I sense many have been on this ship several times.

For 5 passengers, getting to the Galveston port can get costly to travel from the Houston airport to Galveston terminal. We rented one-way rentals via Enterprise. I believe they are the only rental company that accommodates one-way rentals. It cost $80/each way.
