Embarkation was efficiently done, with all staff being courteous and helpful.

The ship overall was new-looking, clean and fairly easy to navigate. At no time did I encounter any unpleasant odors.

My strongest impression was that the ship was a "fun ship." Mark Price, the Cruise Director, was funny and informative, and all the recreation staff were unfailingly enthusiastic, happy, up-beat. Some guests chose to remain aloof and not get directly involved in any activities, but all who relaxed their normal social defenses a bit and got involved were swept up in the feeling of camaraderie and shared good times that prevailed across the ship. For example, all guests were assigned to either the red, blue or white "teams," so that anybody who won any contest gained points for their "team," and all were enthusiastically cheered by their "team-mates" when their colors were announced. I participated in karaoke, ping-pong and basketball foul-shooting contests and some casino black jack, and through these and other activities I gradually developed a sense of sharing a fun vacation experience with my fellow cruisers. Virtually everyone was pleasant and receptive to casual conversation. With few exceptions, the guests all seemed to be in a good mood.
