Me, my husband, 2 children, and 10 friends sailed the Norwegian Sun on July 29th, 2006 from Seattle to Alaska. At embarkation, we were stopped for having a bottle of wine. We had hoped to bring it aboard to have a toast with friends as the shipped sailed. The wine was seized and we were told we would have to pay $15 if we wanted to bring it aboard.

Once we got aboard we went to our cabin. It was disappointing in that it was very small for a balcony room. We had sailed Carnival several times before and there was a huge difference in the size of the cabin. The bathroom was tiny. You will have trouble trying to take a shower. To make matters worse, the couch was broken. Pillow cases were clean, but the pillows themselves were stained yellow. My sisters room next door had no sheets for her sofa bed. Instead, there were 39 pillows cases stuffed inside. Very disappointing.

Public areas were clean but there is virtually nowhere on the ship you can sit where smoking isn't allowed.
