The headline here is that Crown Princess is a beautiful ship, incredible in every detail, but there are many kinks to be worked out after the recent listing incident. We departed on July 29 from the brand spanking new Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. Wow! What a great experience for us. We live in Manhattan, so it was literally 45 minutes from our door to our cabin. The facility is modern, and embarkation was a breeze! Amazing. We will look to New York cruises more often now.
There is still some visible damage to the CP after the near disaster of several weeks ago. Some shattered window panels on the pool deck still not replaced, and several cabins still uninhabitable (pool water rushed in). Upon boarding we asked a crew member "How was it?" referring to the listing incident. They turned white as a ghost (not a reassuring sign). We also learned that the ship listed about 30 degrees, not the 15 we had read in news reports. Just a few more degrees and the ship would have capsized.
OK, back to our cruise. Several elevators were also still out of service, which made wait times intolerable.
