Just got back from my first cruise on the Tahitian Princess. Overall, had a great experience and wanted to share my thoughts.

First off, do NOT book air through Princess if you can avoid it. We did, and it took us a full 24 hours to reach Tahiti. Princess had us flying out of Philadelphia to Detroit (1 and ½ hour flight) where we had a 3 hour layover. Then from Detroit we flew to LAX in CA (5 hour flight) where we had another 3 hour layover. Then we flew to Papeete (7 ½ hour flight).

Our first two flights were with Northwest Airlines and I was shocked that we did not get even a snack given to us on the plane. I can understand not receiving anything on the short flight, but after 5 hours I feel they should have at least given us a bag of peanuts. They offered snacks for sale, but it was very expensive so we declined. Northwest didn't even show a movie on the 5 hour flight! Air Tahiti did provide 2 meals that were decent. They also had individual monitors behind everyone's seat where you could play video games or choose from 7 different movies. Air Tahiti was much better than Northwest.
