The Explorer was a very nice ship but after being on Voyager in November 2005 found that Voyager was a nicer ship and the staff much friendlier and accommodating.

The ports were all very nice but found that having to do customs mid-trip took away from much of our time in Puerto Rico....seemed to take forever and although we were in port at 7 a.m. customs didn't begin until 9 a.m. which definitely limited our possibilities of off ship activities.

We cruise quite often and the ports of call on this ship were excellent. Truly loved St. Maarten as well as Labadee. The shows were typical of Royal Caribbean -- the ice show was amazing to say the least. We attempted dinner in the formal dining room waited 20 minutes and wasn't even offered a glass of water --- so off to the Windjammer we went. The Windjammer is always good for a quick dinner and a wide variety of food. We don't usually rate the dining as we don't find it one of the highlights of cruising. Room service was always prompt and quite good for a quick meal without all the formality.

We would definitely cruise Royal Caribbean again--intend to in the fall. Definitely would recommend the Eastern Caribbean itinerary -- adequate time at each port (exception of Puerto Rico) and we enjoy the 2 days at sea to and from vacation. Enjoy!!
