We were on the Suns first sailing of its Alaska season (May 13), as well as the three-day repositioning cruise from San Francisco to Vancouver.

We left San Francisco on a Wednesday, stopped for a port visit in Victoria, and arrived in Vancouver on Saturday morning. The Sun was sailing without passengers between Vancouver and Seattle, so we arranged for transportation to Seattle with QuickShuttle.

For this one sailing, the Sun was due to arrive in Seattle at approximately 6:00 p.m. and leave at 10:00 p.m. We arrived at Pier 66 around 2:00 p.m. We were met by baggage handlers who took our bags and directed us to a waiting bus. Within a few minutes, the bus left for the Seattle Convention Center, where we were to spend the afternoon. Upon arrival at the Convention Center, we were checked in, with no wait whatsoever, and directed to another area for box lunches and beverages. I had a great roasted vegetable sandwich, and the lunch included chips, fruit and a chocolate chip cookie. Elsewhere in the room, we found tables of dessert goodies and coffee. We were offered free tours or rides to any Seattle location, but we chose to walk a couple of blocks into the main part of Seattle. The weather was perfect, there were street musicians in several locations, and Seattle was beautiful.
