Sail Date: May 2006

Visiting Europe from Australia in May/June it rained for 3 weeks none stop. Fed up of being in wet weather gear we decided to look for the sun. The unknown to us T/A suggested the Island Escape as value for money and as we had no evening dress with us we thought this to be an ideal ship.

Manchester to Palma by air and then transported to the ship. This was a very smooth exercise and well performed by both land agents and ships staff. Our cabin 811 was sufficient, but we were horrified that we had to pay 10 English pounds for the safe key - no money refunded at the end of the voyage.

Our cabin steward was a very efficient Indian boy who was saving his money to pay for his sister wedding. Our room was kept very clean at all times.
