This was our first cruise ever, and I must say ROS did not let us down. We booked everything through RCI, and were glad we did, as Ill tell you later. We did a pre-night in Vancouver. From the time we arrived at the hotel (Sheraton Wall Centre) until the time we left our land tour in Anchorage, we never had to handle our baggage. With four of us in the party, and two suitcases apiece, what a bonus!

Since we arranged transfers through RCI, we were picked up at the hotel around 11:30. We were on board exploring by 12:30, taking pictures without any one in the way. The crew was so pleasant from start to finish. We had lunch in the Windjammer, and our stateroom was ready by 2:30. We sailed away an hour late, as we had to wait for a bus from Seattle.

On our first full day at sea, the captain announced someone needed a medical evacuation so we needed to turn around. Fortunately the Canadian Coast Guard came to the rescue and sent a helicopter. In the end we arrived in Juneau 2 hours late the next day. We had a full day tour scheduled (through the ship), so needless to say, it was canceled. The credit for that appeared on our ship account, and we spent against that the rest of the cruise. The only disappointment was that no other tour was offered to us, but we found one when we got ashore, so all was not lost.
