I had not cruised for about 25 years! WOW, what a difference a quarter century makes!

We arrived at the cruise terminal in Miami at the appointed hour to be met by a sea of people all waiting to get on board. Because we had booked a suite we got VIP treatment and were just whisked right onto the ship after the minimal administrative stuff surrounding documents and cards and whatnot. I am not sure I would have survived what resembled the herding of cattle faced by those who had standard accommodation.

We went straight to our suite where our bags were waiting for us. The suite was great. Roomy, airy, bright and comfortable. It had two very large windows as well as a glass door out to the very private deck so the room was always bright with natural light. Besides a queen sized bed...that my wife swears was a king size...there is a couch and easy chair as well as a coffee table that can be raised to eating/writing table height. A dressing room/walk in closet with lots of closet space, more than two people needed, that was well lit. The bathroom was larger than one would expect, with Jacuzzi tub, shower, and a large wall cabinet. The bed was comfy and the linens high quality. The outside deck had chairs and a table and large enough that one did not feel like they were hanging off the edge of the ship.
