Let me start by stating every cruise is different from the last and from the next. Expectations are sometimes too high depending on where you are cruising. This was our 7th cruise. I was impressed with the staff on the Spirit. They were friendly and always looked to assist us.

Dinner: We enjoyed our meals, we didn't take advantage of the pay for restaurants. We did eat twice in the Italian Restaurant, food was very good and he service was great too. At the regular restaurants we did at times had to get those pagers but it wa at most 10-15 mins before they paged us. No real deal especially since I lived most of my life in NY. We sit in traffic, wait for trains and tend to expect everyone to run and jump when we show up. That is not how life really works. You get treated the way you treat others, sometimes you will get a poor excuse for a badly trained employee but not often. Our worst experience was the most expensive cruise we took and that was in October 2005 on the NCL Pride of America, I would rename the Ship Disgrace of America. Talk about poor attitudes. Everyone on that ship is from the United States and mostly on leave from school. Well they were extremely rude to the elderly, the new ship was dirty and the cleaning staff was the worst. I never thought I would want to be on another NCL ship again, My wife booked the Spirit, well they restored my faith and I now will take each and every cruise separately and not just the cruise company.

We thought the entertainment was good, the cruise director was also around and keeping things lively. It's too bad they stopped selling the bucket of beer 6 for the price of 5, that alone stopped me from buying more. Our bar tab was no more than $100 for the entire cruise. Unlike Carnival which has juice all day long, I did enjoy the Ice Tea which i never drink.
