This was the second cruise that my wife and I have taken. The first was a 4 day on the Carnival Sensation out of New Orleans by our selves. We decided to take our 6 year old daughter on this one as a combination 10th wedding anniversary/Family vacation. We booked the category 11 suite mainly to have extra room and a bathtub for our daughter. We did get a military veteran discount booking through Carnival. We did not have as much fun on this cruise as we did on the Sensation. Im not sure if its because it was a different crowd sailing on the Conquest, or if its because we had to keep our daughter on the Camp Carnival schedule or a little bit of both. Dont get me wrong, we enjoyed it, but it just wasnt the same experience as before.

I will break this review down by days to try and remember everything that happened.

GALVESTON: When we booked this cruise, we immediately searched the internet for a hotel. We found the Best Western beachfront who advertised free cruise parking and transportation to and from the pier. It sounded like a good deal to stay and park there for $140 to save $70 on pier parking. When we arrived, we were informed that there was a misprint on the web when we booked, but has since been corrected. Parking is provided, but you must take a taxi to the pier-$17 each way. The room was a very basic low-end hotel room. Nothing fancy.
