We took this short re-positioning cruise to introduce friends of ours to cruising. We specifically needed a cruise departing from California and coming back to Vancouver (where we live), and Holland America and the Ryndanm fit the bill.

We booked in February and attempted to get a balcony cabin but were told they were all sold out. We ended up with an ocean view in the bowels of the ship - 4th. floor - and in light of the ferocious weather on the second day, we were very happy we did.

Embarkation was a dream with no lines and no waiting. The ship was coming from a Panama cruise and picked up only 750 passengers in San Diego. Our cabin was available right away and was roomy, clean and quite comfortable.
