Ok well here is my review of the Conquest...My wife and I were on our honeymoon. This cruise has been booked for about ten months. We drove to Galveston as we live in Ft Worth and the drive was only about 5 hours. We arrived in Galveston at about 11AM and parked at the EZCruise parking lot (26th and Santa Fe) which we reserved online to save 5 dollars. Contrary to all the good things I have heard of this lot, we had very bad luck with it. We parked and got all of our luggage out, then walked to the covered pick up area where we waited with the other 150 or so people for our shuttle. The "shuttle" (a small mini type van) pulled up and was able to take on four people and all their ten pieces of luggage. We waited for the next one. While we were waiting, we heard the lot attendant talking to the shuttle on the radio. We learned that there were two lots that the shuttles serve, and only TWO shuttles. We and another couple walked to the pier (only about two blocks) and were walking into the gate area to board the ship when we saw the people who were ahead of us at the park ing lot in the VERY BACK ON THE LINE to process their paperwork..glad we walked..once on board (about 12:45 AM--very quick process to get on the ship). We went straight to our stateroom (Riviera Deck Ocean View 1431) which was already cleaned and ready for us to occupy.

We couldn't help but notice the cleanliness of the ship and the friendliness of the crew in helping people find their room. We unpacked and then hit the decks to see what this megaliner was all about. All the decks were very clean, very large and spacious, and had a lot of crew members to help people find their way around the first day. Once we explored, we went to the Lido deck buffet and ate lunch..VERY GOOD....i cant remember what it was that day, but the food was awesome. We made our way down to the room to prepare for the emergency vest and lifeboat drill. After the drill was over, we went to the top and waited for our ship to leave port. This was an awesome experience since this was my first cruise, even though it was raining all evening Sunday. Pretty cool to see where the Galveston.com webcam is from the SHIP's point of view.

Once we left port, we went for drinks and learned that the drink menu and prices are different in the port of Galveston..Hmmm..The rest of the day was spent learning our ship and where everything was. We turned in for the night and had an extremely great nights sleep. I think the slight rocking helped put me to sleep. CASINO---Monday, it rained. MORE!! We spent most of the day Monday eating, drinking, napping, and gambling!!! If you hit the blackjack table, find the table that Caesar is working at..He's awesome..and even if you end up losing, he's a good guy to talk to while your doing it! HAHA..I was ahead several hundred the first part of the trip, but by the time we got off the boat, I was even on the blackjack table. The casino is very clean, and they have plenty of waiters and waitresses to keep a drink in your hand--Caution--drinks in the casino are not free. The casinos are a lot of fun--several big jackpots on the slots were made also..might go try your luck.
