Sail Date: Mar 2006

We have taken more than 36 different cruises on various lines, and more than 16 aboard Princess ships. We have read prior critics reviews about the Island Princess trip to Hawaii, and we cannot agree with the comments made regarding the other trips people made. I guess we did not experience any distant travel to the San Pedro docks as we live about an hour drive to the Ship.

We found that embarking was no problem rather fast compared to prior trips. We boarded shortly after noon, went to our cabin, left our carry ons and made a quick trip Topside for our lunch. The buffet was very good as was the service. By 3pm our luggage was at the door of our room.

Our room was neatly prepared with a guest bar of liquor and other drinks waiting (a perk offered for Elite class travelers). Our cabin steward met us shortly after we began unpacking and introduced himself to us. We had requested a champagne icer for a bottle which we brought with us to celebrate my 76th birthday and our steward assured us that it would be in our cabin on the 24th of March. Later that first day he brought two robes for our use during the cruise. All I can say is that our cabin service was outstanding during the entire cruise.
