This was our 4th cruise with Princess and the best yet. We were met at the airport by Princess with a transfer, and it was extremely easy. Embarkation was a breeze, and we were on the ship in a reasonably short amount of time. We had previously sailed on the Caribbean Princess, and we thought that the Golden Princess was actually nicer and more classy. We had great service with the exception of one night in the dining room, when it was just ok. The food was excellent overall, but the buffet was just a buffet, and probably could use some improvement.

We were disappointed with the entertainment and thought that the acts that we did see (we didn't see many though) were only average to below average. The band that played by the pool was very good and enjoyable, while the act in the main atrium with a female singer was downright bad. We can say however, that the sales "pushiness" that we felt on the CP did not exist such as the selling of after dinner drinks with souvenir glasses.

The ports of call were excellent - St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Grenada, Isla Margarita, and Aruba. We enjoyed them all, and especially enjoyed our stay at Isla Margarita. We were disappointed that there are less cruises stopping there on the newly published itineraries. This was an especially nice tour. We book all our tours through Princess, and have never been disappointed. We did hear some problems that were encountered by those that went out on their own - this is not surprising coming from NY. There are lots of good places to see in NYC, but you can get in trouble not knowing where you are going. Overall, the ports were excellent.
