My husband and I sailed with another couple on the Carnival Conquest on March 19th. It was the 2nd cruise for us and the 4th for the other couple. All of us are in our mid-twenties and pretty laid back. We flew from New Hampshire to Houston without any real problems until we reached the Houston baggage claim. As the luggage began circulating, we noticed that hardly any of it was being claimed by anyone on our flight. It turns out that our flight was carrying the night befores luggage instead of ours. Our luggage would arrive in a couple hours, but unfortunately that is when the Conquest was already supposed to be sailing away. We quickly filled out our baggage claims and tried to figure out what exactly we were going to do for the next 3 days with little to no clothing. The airline did tell us that they would possibly reimburse us up to $75 per person (which is nothing on a cruise!) for necessities. (It is now a month later and we are still trying to get this moneymy recommendation is to fly down a day early in order to prevent this situation from occurring!) So, we boarded are bus to Galveston and decided to make fun of our situation as much as possible. After all, we had saved for a year for this trip & I was having fun no matter what!

We arrived at the Conquest and saw the enormous line to board. Great tip for this porttake the line to the left when going through the boarding procedures. Its queue only covers a ¼ of the room, where as the line to the right takes up ¾ of the room. We went right through and boarded the ship.

The ship itself is beautiful and very clean. I love impressionist art, so I thought the dEcor was great. We headed towards our cabin at the back of the ship. Our cabin made the whole missing luggage experience just fade away. It was very large and our extended balcony off the back of the ship was wonderful. Also, our steward opened the glass partition on the balcony between our room and our friends. We spent so much time out there lounging on the deck chairs. The in-room mini bar was also great. The prices were the same as the bars so we didnt feel bad at all about raiding it.
