I don't mean to sound so negative but here is my experience on the SUN. My family and I wanted a relaxing, fun cruise for our Spring Break Vacation. We have cruised many times and love it! We took this family vacation on the Norwegian Sun ship.

Upon arrival, we found everything neat, clean and like any other cruise we had been on in the past. Boy, were we mistaken. Once entering and exiting the room, we found that the door handle was missing two bolts and would not close properly leaving the cabin door ajar. We also found that the blow dryer in the restroom was broken. That evening, my teen-age daughter went into the restroom to take a shower. The shower flooded the bathroom. We threw down towels, soaked up the water and chalked it up to a teenage daughter trying to use the ships shower. The next morning my wife, younger daughter and I all took showers and found that not only the bathroom floor flooded but it spilled out into our cabin room and into the hallway outside our cabin. Our cabin steward was very nice and immediately sent someone to take care of all of the problems (carpet, shower, door, hairdryer). They brought a carpet cleaner and soaked up the hallway water, the plumber cleaned the drain in the shower and said that all was well. He was mistaken. Upon entry to our cabin we found our cabin carpet to still be soaking wet. We were going squish, squish, squish with each step we took. It was past our 3 year olds bedtime, so we decided to report the wet carpet problem in the morning.

The next morning, we all showered again, and ONCE AGAIN, the cabin FLOODED just as before, in the room, in the bathroom floor and in the hallway. By this time, I was fed up, and before breakfast, I reported the problem to our cabin steward again. We figured they would use the carpet cleaner to suck up the water, like in the hallway, and that would be that. We thought we would walk into a clean, neat, cabin like we did when we first arrived. Oh, NO! Once returning from breakfast, we could hardly open the door! Something was blocking the door from opening. We could open the door about a foot and a half.. We stuck our head into the cabin to see that the carpet was partially rolled back, exposing the bare floor underneath . The carpet was lifted from the entrance door to the center of the room to include the bathroom door carpet. In the center of this mess was a carpet dryer. If you have never seen a carpet dryer/blower, it is a machine like a blow-dryer, shaped like a snail shell, that sits directly on the floor and strongly blows air along the floor to dry the carpet. The problem was the carpet was not on the floor, so the dryer was blowing whatever was under the carpet, all around our room. The room smelled musty, moldy, and damp. So we knew that the air was full of all of the nasty toxins that were trapped in the carpet. These toxins were now blown/released into the air of our cabin. Now, not only did the room smell, but it sounded like a wind tunnel. The blower was very noisy for that tiny room. I immediately called for our cabin steward so we could go into our room.
