We booked our cruise in September of 2005. We previously went on the Grand Princess in March. That was our first cruise. We really liked that cruise, so had high expectations for this cruise. We were not let down. On our first cruise we stayed away from Carnival based upon others saying it was just a party ship and not that nice. Those people couldnt have been more wrong. Let me tell you about our awesome cruise.

We flew in a night before to FLL. Rented a car to stay at a Miami hotel. We went with another couple. (Two married couples, early 30s, kids stayed at home with grandparents.) Embarkation: Very smooth. We arrived around 10:15 A.M. We could go inside the terminal building where we got our sign and sail cards. We were one of the first 50 people in line, then proceeded to the security checkpoint, on to waiting area, then to get embarkation picture and then to board the ship. We were on the ship by 11:30 or so.

Cabin: We were on the Lido deck. We were right inside the door from the pool area. It was a nice room. One small closet, three drawers and about 4 shelves in a cabinet. Two nightstands and a desk with mirror and chair. The new bedding was wonderful. So nice that you wanted to just stay in bed. We would love to stay on the Lido deck again. I thought it very nice of Carnival to have many toiletries in the bathroom. They even had shampoo and body wash in the shower. Next time I wont have to pack so much. Dining: We were in the Pacific dining room at the back of the ship. What a pretty room. Windows were all around. We had a four-person booth on the lower level. One of the people in our party is allergic to most foods. Carnival was very helpful with this. Our server was Kaitlin from Romania she was wonderful. In fact we would love to book another cruise she is on. Food was very good in the dining room. I like the fact you can branch out and try new things. All of the chicken dishes were really good. Eggplant was good also. Pizza on Lido was always great at 1AM. Reuben, I had three during the cruise what can I say. My husband liked the steak sandwich.
