This was our second cruise and as with the first, didnt want to get off!!! Theres nothing like a few days of papering to get the nerves back in line. Here are a few areas of our trip that might be of interest.

I booked our cruise on the Internet as it was easy, cheapest prices, and we actually had our documents before others that had used travel agents. Drove from OKC to Galveston the day before embarkation and stayed at the Holiday Inn On The Beach. Had a great view of the beach and ocean, room was adequate, but the smoke smell was a little strong for a non-smoking room. Best part was dinner at Landrys, which is within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel overbooked their shuttle so we didnt get on when scheduled but after a little encouragement the hotel paid for a taxi to the port. We wanted to walk thru the Stand District before boarding and didnt want to wait for another hour for the next overcrowded shuttle. Left the luggage at the port and walked the Strand District which was very relaxing after a stop at Starbucks. Upon arriving at the terminal we were onboard in 22 minutes from front door to ship. Went straight to our room where our luggage was waiting for us.

Room was interior J room on the 7th level. Of course it was small but very well planned out. Loved all the storage in the medicine cabinet. Shower is miniscule but functional if you dont mind a shower curtain plastered to your behind. Storage is terrific and they provide quite a few hangers in the large closet area. We had one LARGE suitcase that didnt fit under the bed so had to store it in the closet which was a pain. Beds were fair but could have better mattresses. Dont forget your NON-ELECTRIC clock as there isnt one in the room and the only plug in is far away. In fact, bring an extension cord and a power strip to plug in your camera and other items. We took a small fan to keep the air moving and to make some noise. However, we didnt hear a thing the entire cruise from neighbors or people going down the hall.
