This was our tenth cruise, but only my second on NCL in 15 years. The last was a Baja cruise that was great, but of course I was aware of the previous reviews of PoAm so we were ready for anything.

Overall, the cruise was fantastic, both off the ship and on. The absolute worst part of the trip was that we had to arrive a day early due to our United Plus airline miles claiming no seats available the day we wanted, but on arriving at the airport found out that our flight was changed to earlier that day and nobody had informed us. We had booked through United who booked us on Aloha. Neither airline was willing to take responsibility or provide rooming or transportation for us. They booked us to fly the next day as if doing us a favor, and left us on our own. Needless to say we now have to seek legal means to recover the cost of our airport hotel that night, the hotel we had booked in Hawaii that night, and an extra day car rental on the last day, since that flight was moved up 10 hours. Of course how do you get compensated for not going to bed and waking up in Hawaii, having breakfast on the beach, and meeting friends for lunch before boarding, or a final afternoon sunbathing and shopping?

We arrived on the day of embarkation at 1pm and had no problem catching a taxi for the short $20 trip to the pier. The check in was normal, everyone was friendly and the line moved well. Fortunately no busses had just unloaded. Read more
