This was the first time we traveled on the Seabourn Cruise Line and we had expected the very best of everything. We had not known that the ship was just coming out of dry-dock and many of the various issues we had were attributed, by the staff, as just coming out of dry dock and rushing to get the ship ready for this cruise.

When one pays top dollar for a first class cruise line, one expects certain things some of which we did receive and others which we did not. For example, we were told that the satellite was down and therefore no internet or email service was available right away. We embarked on a Tuesday and didnt get the services back until Sunday - six days. At that point, the ship gave us 48 hours, i.e. until the next Tuesday, to use their services for free after which we had to purchase time to use the internet and email. Many guests, including myself, were upset, and voiced our feelings to the reception and purser, since we felt that due to the inconvenience of not having service for six days, the line could and should allow us to use the internet at no cost.

We also felt that some of the shore excursions were very costly for what they gave you. For example, we went on a canopy tour in Nicaragua. No one told us that it would take two hours to get to the place, with only about 45 minutes of going on the canopies, and then two hours back without any place to stop to use any facilities. Therefore we were away from any facilities for over five hours. The box lunch which the ship provided was, I believe, unacceptable, and consisted of two mini sandwiches, mostly bread, a can of coke, two slivers of cheese, three crackers, two cookies and an orange There was no straw, napkin or wet wipe included. For a ship of this stature, it would behoove them to reconsider this aspect of how they treat their passengers.
