We stayed the night before on south beach at the Atlantica voted #1 on trip advisor. Great location. Got to the pier around 1:30, about a 15 minute wait to get to the agent. Our room was ready, no room steward in sight. On Princess they make a point of greeting you once you get to your room.
The room is tiny. The bed configuration was ridiculous. You bumped into the back of the bed when you got in the room. Whomever sleeps on the inside is against the wall and the only way you can get out of bed is to climb over the other person. I had them break it into 2 beds. I get up during the night, so does my husband, no sense in climbing over each other. Plus the room seems bigger, more space to move around with the 2 separate beds. We looked for the A/C controls, had to call the operator, its on the ceiling. I had to put a chair under it to adjust, and hoped I didnt fall off the chair. Seems ripe for a lawsuit. The bathroom has a lot of nice toiletries Rolaids, gum, razors, energy drink powder (came in handy). They supply you with 6 cans of sodas, theyre $1.75 per can. You also get 2 large beach towels, but I always got mine from the pool deck. The shower was a good size, you didnt need a can opener to get in. Theres 2 closets, I thought there was plenty of hangers.
A Caribbean/Jamaican style band was playing on the pool deck. They played every day from noon till 5. The ship left around 5:45? It was cool backing up by the other ships in port. I had requested and was told that I had the 6:15 dinner, but was given the 5:45, no problem. Except we were done by 7:15 and the production show doesnt start till 8:45. We easily got seats on the upper level of the dynasty lounge. Went to the piano lounge, boy is this lounge smokey, they should just make it into a smoking room. They need some ventilation in there bad. All of the other clubs are much larger so no problem. I noticed there were a lot of smokers on the ship everywhere you went.
