Hi, I am just home from the Star Princess New Years 11 Day Cruise (12/28/05-1/8/06). All in all had a good time. Just for your information when determining my point of view, I am a 24 year old male, traveling with family. THis was my 14th Cruise, 2nd with Princess.

1) Embarkation. Embarkation went smoothly. Arrived at the port at 11:00. (Stayed at the Best Western Marina Inn in Ft. Lauderdale the night prior, Great Shuttle Service). Went into the building where we were directed to a set of chairs. They had given people arriving before 10:30 numbers so they would go first. When the room got full (1115ish) they closed off the room, and everyone else had to wait outside. They started to check in around 11:45, and We were on the ship by 12:15. Very smooth process.

2) The Ship. We were on deck 9 (Dolphin) Great room (Interior), great room Steward (Dino). THe ship came out in January 2002, and is in great shape for being 4 years old. There has been a lot of talk on this board about a "Sewage Smell". I did smell this on various decks, and it lasted about 3 to 4 seconds maybe once a day at the most, and was really never in the same spot. Read more
