Just returned from our partial transit Panama Canal Cruise. We chose this ship/itinerary because DH does not fly. It was wonderful. The ship is beautiful, the crew attentive, friendly and eager to please and the food was good. We arrived at the pier at 2:15 and nearly walked right onto the ship. We had lunch at the Windjammer and explored until dinner. The Meet & Mingle was hosted by the CD, Peter. Juices and very nice finger foods were served. All members were given a gift. We did not take any tours, but did explore the ports on our own (walking). The exception being Colon, Panama. There was not enough time to get off of the ship and back on(1.5 hours). When the ship arrived, the tour passengers were already lined up to re-board and the line to get off was way long. we decided not to waste our time. There are many terrific places to sit quietly and read or people watch. Very few children were on board and those that were seen, were very well behaved. The transit through the Gatun Locks was worth the trip all on its own. This experience was awesome. Our only negative comment was the lack of anything to drink except coffee or hot tea 24 hours a day. You could purchase soda or alcohol of course, but not all of us care for them. Would have liked to be able to get ice tea around the clock. Lattitudes was great. The Schooner bar and Susana were terrific. The Colony Club was the best places to sit and read and watch the ocean aft. Our balcony room had plenty of storage and hangers. The balcony itself the perfect place to watch the sunrise/sunset.
