Zaandam Cruise Review by checklady724
- Sail Date: November 2004
- Destination: Western Caribbean
The bathtub was very small, almost a washtub.
The service in the main dining room was acceptable but not exceptionable. The food was good but menu very limited. We had to ask for bread 3 times in one night. The service in the buffet was worse. Good luck in the buffet, the lines were long and the food was limited. Closed down early compared to other ships I have been on.
The pool area is small. Water cold.
The ship staff seemed to not want to be there. No one smiled or even made conversation till the last day. The rooms were not made up quickly and no cute towel animals for our enjoyment like on other ships. I am not sure if this is the norm on this ship or if it was due to the fact that most of the ship's crew's contracts were up.
I thought we had booked a luxury cruise and we were very disappointed. I don't think we will sail with this line again. As much as we love cruising, this line has lost clients.
