We boarded the Volendam on 10-16 around 1130. The embarkation process was very smooth. We had sent "WHO THE HAL ARE YOU" Tags to some of the other CC'ers who were on our roll call and met a couple of them waiting in line to embark. It was a blast. We went to Lido AFT deck and waited until our room was ready around 1300.

Our room was fine, balcony is great. Our closet door did creak and was a little bent out of shape, but they are going into dry dock in December, so am sure it will be fixed. The new beds are wonderful and the bathroom was much better with the new medicine cabinet and the mirror on the inside of the door so you could also see the back of your hair. The new hair dryers were great. The only thing they needed was better lighting in the room by the desk area. Even though they had the new makeup mirror, the lighting was still not very good. The makeup mirror they could take away.

We went back up to the AFT deck for our CC sailaway party. The only thing wrong was there wasn't any Caribbean or Jimmy Buffet music!! They had just repositioned from Alaska and maybe that was the reason. Read more
