Just returned from a 7-night cruise to the W. Caribbean on the Sun. What a beautiful ship and wonderful cruise! Hurricane Wilma caused us to miss ports at Roatan and Belize, but we stopped at Cozumel and Vera Cruz. I'm not a fan of these ports. . .lots of "tourist junk" to buy and very hot and humid! But they were interesting, especially the excursion we took to the countryside at Vera Cruz. My son-in-law took the tour to Chichen Itza (from Playa del Carmen) and said it was terrific.

The ship is impeccably clean and attractive. We had an inside cabin, which was roomy and had plenty of storage. We ate only in the main (free) dining rooms and breakfast buffets, and enjoyed the food very much. It was beautifully presented (in the dining rooms) and very tasty. The buffets were good (and fast), if not "gourmet" in quality. Food in the dining rooms was innovative and delicious. We couldn't see how the specialty dining rooms or their food could justify an additional cover charge. We were MORE than satisfied with the "free" dining.

The entertainment is nice, but depends on what you enjoy. The dancing shows are not my favorite, but the comedian, Fred Klett, is hilarious and not to be missed. We skipped one or two of the shows and relaxed in our rooms to recover from a day ashore. The in-room TV offered news and different movies--all adequate. The lounges featured excellent singers and pianists.
