This was my first cruise, my wife's second. I know I am a novice cruiser, but honestly it is not the ship that makes the cruise but what type of person you are. If you are a whiny complaining baby who feels that you deserve better than the world has to offer, well you are in for an average cruise. But if you are free to experience new faces, places and are willing to stop and smell the roses, well this extremely affordable cruise is for you. For the two of us, 20 years of marriage is a long time to wait for a get away, but this cruise was well worth it. It really it is up to you to choose to enjoy yourself. Taking the time to acknowledge up front that the Majesty may not be RCI's ultimate dream ship is the best antidote to unrealistic expectations.

Yes the ship is older, so what. New is nice I agree, but frankly, what's the difference? Is it to have bragging rights? Well if that is your motivation, then you have other issues to deal with.

Yes there are a few stains here and there, so what. I have stayed in luxury hotels that were in worse shape than the Majesty. My stateroom, silverware and plates were all clean and sparkling (the most important issues to me). When my stateroom window fogged from the sea mist, it was magically clear overnight (we were on Deck 8, these windows are set back with a walkway below).
