I had read many of the reviews on the Carnival Legend, and of course for every good review there is a bad one. I figure that if you go on vacation and really want to have a bad time, you will. ( and there truly are people out there who have to be unhappy to be happy, if that makes any sense) I am going to outline my experience. **** P.S. I want to note that this is my experience and vacation is what you make of it****

EMBARKATION: I had read reviews about how horrible embarkation in New York was. We arrived the day before to see the city and intended to head to the pier about 11am. We arrived by cab at the pier at 11:30, it was a little confusing, there is a long ramp that cars were lined up which seemed to stretch for a mile. We opted to have the cab drop us of at the street level, and hoped for the best. Fortunately for us this was the perfect spot. We dropped our bags with the porter and we were inside the terminal within 10 minutes from getting out of the cab. Once inside a Carnival person ushered us into an area with a couple hundred chairs. We ended up in about the 15th row. She announced that we would go in by rows and to hang out there. Within about 30 minutes we started moving, went through security and got our sail and sign cards. It was pretty organized for that many people. We were standing inside the lobby of the ship by 1pm. We either got very lucky or the key is to be mellow and get there early.

ONCE INSIDE: Other reviews have talked about how ugly the ship is and that the lobby was dizzying and they hated the ornament urns that surrounded it. Look here's the deal. To me, the lobby looked classy colors matched and it was immaculate. Was it over the top? Maybe in the sense that a vegas casino is... Let me also say this. How can you comment on the ship being ugly? No matter how they try, you wont be able to please everyone with decor. If everyone liked the same thing, then Kelly Moore would only make one color of paint. Lets move on.
