This cruise was supposed to depart on Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, but could not get into port due to Hurricane Ophelia, which kept it out to sea. We finally boarded the ship on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, and the ship pulled out in the late afternoon. We were told we would be given $250 shipboard credit for the 'revised 8 day cruise'.
SHIP CONDITION: Grandeur of the Seas is in great need of a renovation and make over. She looks old and maintenance is greatly needed everywhere. She looks tired. Passengers on decks 2, 3 and 4 were constantly complaining that the toilets did not work. Fortunately for us, we did not have that problem being in a balcony cabin on the 7th deck.
EMBARKATION: Going out, the process was pretty smooth. We went thru the check in process fairly quickly, being Platinum Club Anchor and Crown members. We were allowed to board at 11:00 a.m., and lunch was being served in the Windjammer Cafe.
