Just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Opera, out from Venice. We have always cruised with Celebrity in the past so it was interesting in comparing them.

This ship is very clean, and our cabin was a suite type with balcony. The ship only has a small number of suites, and they are positioned on top of the ship to the front. They are very quiet, and the balcony is large compared with other balcony cabins. The bathroom is large with bath and good quality shower. You also get tea coffee served free when you want it. Service was very good, and our steward sam was excellent.

We dined second sitting 9.15am which is a bit late, but you don't get rushed to finish your meal. The service is swift and very good. You have 5 courses to choose from, and we had no complaints about any meal. If you did not like what was offered you could always have Chicken or Steak or Pasta. Lunch was very good, fresh cooked pasta, or you could choose a hot or cold dish from the self service food area. We never went to the dining room, but they served a buffet there. Breakfast was good, and there was always a good choice fresh rolls, bread, fruit. One good point was that the coffee was excellent and served to your table by smiling waiters, nothing to much trouble. We were not to keen on the plastic plates at breakfast and lunch, but they were clean. The pool area is bright and clean with lots of loungers. This area does get crowded, and you do get a lot of noise, but it is only people enjoying the cruise.
