Sail Date: Jan 1970

We just returned from the 11 day Ultimate Caribbean - RT Fort Lauderdale - Dec.9-Dec. 20. I would rate this cruise as 4 out of 5 stars.

Ship Ambience: We had previously sailed on HAL's Maasdam and Noordam, so this ship was huge in comparison to those two. I enjoyed sitting in the Revelations Lounge during the day. This is on the 11th deck forward and there is a 180 degree view of the ocean. The exercise room is very well equipped and is directly under the Revelations Lounge. While on the treadmill you can look out at the ocean ahead of you. The pool area was lovely but there were a few minor problems. Each day there was an announcement in the daily paper to please not reserve chairs at the pool. However, we went out there at 8 am and every chair in the shady area already had towels and personal items on them. There were a few squabbles among some people about why they saved chairs and whose chair it was - ship officers were called upon to settle some differences. There was also an announcement in the paper to please observe the basic dress code and not wear the Celebrity bathrobes in the pool area or around the ship. But quite a few people wore them anyway. Obviously, rules are posted but not enforced. So, we went with the flow and had to get out there early enough to reserve a chair before breakfast.

Cabin: We had a balcony cabin on the starboard side and it was lovely. Our cabin steward and her assistant were excellent.
