Norwegian Pearl Cruise Review by BahamaMama17
- Sail Date: February 2013
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Mid-Ship Balcony
We all went to the Summer Palace for lunch which was not busy and was a great way to begin our cruise. After lunch we went to check out our rooms which were all ready for us. We had sailed on the Epic the previous year with a balcony room and we liked the layout of our balcony room on the Pearl much better.
The first stop was the private island at GSC. Plenty of lounge chairs available and a nice lunch. Water was cold. We all had a nice day there.
Our next stop was Jamaica. We had our day planned through resortsforaday which we had done online. Can't say enough good things about that day. Jamaica can be tough if you are on your own.We were picked up in a nice van at the port and taken to The Jewel Resort.. Great beach, pool, food, swim up bar and all inclusive. No hassles at all and we all had a great time.
Next, Grand Cayman. Kind of beached out so we just walked around and shopped. Did the same at Cozamel. So many ships were there it was way too busy.
We purchased the wine package which worked out great for us. We mostly ate in the Summer Palace in the evening , a few times in Indigo and once in La Cuccina. We liked La Cuccina better on the Epic. On the Pearl the service there was lacking. But everywhere else it was great and we thought the food very good to excellent. I was watching my diet and found it easy with the great selections of salad, fruit, egg white omelettes, sugar free desserts, fish and chicken.
Entertainment was good, especially Frankie Vallle and 2nd City.
We really liked this ship.We could always find lounge chairs and the ship was very clean and hand cleaning and sanitizing was a huge priority. Crew was very friendly and competent. Would we do it again? Yes we would!
