This was our first cruise on the MAGIC but not our first Carnival. We booked Carnival this time because we were traveling with our children and proved to be the most affordable. However, Carnival has definitely cut back on the bang for your buck. First we went to a "show" one night and it consisted of one guy on stage reading a script and presenting the characters of the who dunit. It lasted 15 minutes and "thats all folks". What a disappointment, even for Carnival. Another night rough seas so no show. Maybe they should have thought about that before the big Who Dunit? There were 2 pretty decent shows but that's it.

The food was mediocre at best. This could be partly because we were never, in 7 days, served a hot meal. The kitchen was slow and the service was slower. The waitress apologized many times but at some point sorry just doesn't cut it. At times is was hard to find someone to refill the iced tea.

Room service was awful. They were never on time. One morning they were 10 minutes late, brought 2 pots of coffee (we only ordered one) and no coffee cups! When we adjusted our time for room service, knowing they would be late, they knocked on the door 15 minutes early...just couldn't win that one.
