Rhapsody of the Seas Cruise Review by rosebuds63
- Sail Date: December 2012
- Destination: Australia & New Zealand
- Cabin Type: Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony
For Christmas holidays we decided on a Family holiday, it could be the last as our children are now 20 and 18. We chose Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas, a 10 night (5 stop) cruise from Sydney back to Sydney.
We chose this Ship as we were led to believe that it had had a major refurb ?May 2012.
Some of the Public areas had been freshened up but the cabins were VERY tired!
We had a Cabin with a Balcony on level 7. It really needed a freshen up! There were patches on the ceiling where the paint had peeled off!
We were shocked to hear that other levels below didn't have a fridge in their rooms and had to use ice buckets!
Sadly due to Cyclone Freda our Itinerary had to change so we only had 4 stops and an extra day at sea! Missed Noumea altogether!
The meals were disappointing in the main restaurant. Several were inedible!
Meals in the speciality restaurants were fantastic (but you pay extra for this!)
Drinks are all extra, apart from cordial type drinks and normal tea or coffee.
Excursions are expensive and short!
My highlight was dinner at Chefs Table! A fantastic evening of delicious food! Wine matched and 5 courses plus Champagne to start.
New Year's Eve was well done and the tables in the main restaurant were nicely decorated and party hats provided.
