Cabin: Junior Suite (obstructed views)

At the last minute my husband and I decided to catch a short cruise before the holidays. The idea of visiting Key West and the Bahamas appealed to us. All that was available was a junior suite with obstructed view. We called Cheap Cruises.com before we booked and the woman assured us that although there might be a lifeboat hanging above or below the cabin, we would still have a view of the water. This was so not true. The lifeboat totally blocked the view and made using the balcony impossible.

The next disappointment was the food in the buffet. It was without question the worst we've ever had. We tried the dinning room and the food was somewhat better there, but the service was spotty and the choices not nearly as good as what we've experienced on other cruises.

It was a old ship, dark with outdated decor and crowded passageways. Another disappointment came when we discovered there was no ballroom style dancing during the entire cruise. Although there was one spot that supposedly had dancing each night, it was right in the middle of the passageway with no dance floor and a small band playing mostly jazz. One of the shows called Motor City was quite good but the other called the Brits was so bad the audience felt sorry for the performers.
