We selected this particular cruise based on the very reasonable price for a "best available outside cabin" (which resulted in a cat 05), the easy access to Norfolk from our home in NC, our desire to see Bermuda as well as our previous wonderful experience with Celebrity on our first cruise three years ago -- It was just coincidence that our ship was again the Horizon. We were initially a little concerned over the fact that the ship would be 3 1/2 years older and scheduled to depart from the Celebrity fleet this fall but we were pleasantly surprised that the evidences of wear and tear were minimal. Embarking was a breeze as was disembarking - Our hats are off to the port of Norfolk/Celebrity as we found it much better organized than Miami. The food in the main dining room was superb at all three meals and very passable in the buffet. A very nice new touch was the excellent Sushi service each afternoon in a portion of the buffet area which made a perfect snack for we late seating diners. The standard outside cabins on Horizon are a very comfortable 172 sq ft with more than adequate storage. The service staff on Horizon were all truly excellent and upon questioning several of them they confessed that they much preferred working the smaller ships (Horizon and Zenith) and felt a sense of camaraderie with fellow staff members and more chance to get to know the passengers. This is a wonderful way to experience Bermuda with a day and a half in St. George and four days in Hamilton with your luxury hotel tied up right in the middle of downtown. With a four day unlimited bus/ferry pass at just $35 each and a good guide book there is absolutely no reason to book the overpriced ship's excursions. Bermuda is truly different from the Caribbean Islands with an almost total absence of poverty and the most friendly native populace we have experienced anywhere in our travels. In closing we have to say that this may have been the all-time best vacation we have experienced and Bermuda is on our "will return" list!!
